In the ever-evolving realms of fashion, few trends are as timeless and captivating as the floral motif. In the Spring/Summer 2023 season yet again the fashion world finds itself enchanted by the perennial allure of flowers. From the runways of Milan, London, and Paris, it is clear that the floral trend is flourishing like never before. Clothes and accessories alike are adorned with an explosion of flowers, igniting a radiant celebration of nature's beauty and infusing the fashion landscape with an undeniable sense of joy, colour and vitality.

A tapestry of blossoms with flowers at the forefront, while nothing new in all fashion genres from high end couture to street apparel, have all taken on a renewed vigour this year with floral motifs centre stage in many collections showcased with designers embracing a botanical tapestry with enthusiasm, adorning garments and accessories with embroidered and draped flowers, embellished with dazzling crystals. Notable designers such as Bottega Veneta, Valentino Haute Couture, and Giorgio Armani have employed subtle screen prints juxtaposed with bold details and inserts, creating a harmonious blend of delicate audacity.

Floral delights offer an abundance of variation to your wardrobe. The floral trend for me transcends all traditional boundaries, as it extends its influence from garments to every form of accessory from jewellery, shoes and bags. Roses, daisies and sunflowers continue to charm as ever, but this season an obsession with the anthurium — a flower that dominated the last fashion season. With its distinctive shape, vibrant colours, and heart-shaped spathe, the anthurium has become the emblem of love and affection. Jonathan Anderson of Loewe chose this captivating bloom as the central element of his latest summer collection presented in Paris. The anthurium's prominence extended beyond the garments, as a giant anthurium took centre stage in the catwalk's scenography, igniting a new wave of flower mania.

At a time of raised climate awareness and concerns over circularity perhaps the fashion world is starting to change for the better, bit this needs to extend beyond the catwalks and salesrooms, but actually their whole design and production process to ensure a greener future.
